The Verdant Islands ( English for green islands ) consist of two small islands overgrown with tussock grass off the western end of South Georgia . In the group of Willis Islands , they are between Trinity Island and Hall Island .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations descriptively named one of the two islands as Verdant Island in 1930 . In 1985 this name was changed to take the second island into account.
