The honorary title of Honored Water Manager of the German Democratic Republic was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1979 in the form of a medal . Appearance and wearing style

The gold-plated medal with a diameter of 30 mm shows the symbolic representation of a water treatment plant in front of a dam in the center of its obverse . This is enclosed by the inscription: MERIT WASSERWIRTSCHAFTLER above and two crossed laurel branches below, each of which is bent upwards. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, showed the GDR's national coat of arms. The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a light blue covered clasp. In the ribbon, 3 mm wide, dark blue vertical central stripes are woven on both sides, 3 mm from the hem. The interim clasp was of the same quality and showed the 10 mm gold miniature of the obverse of the medal.
