The Resource Association is an association in Detmold that was founded as a resource company in autumn 1825 . According to the statutes, the purpose of the association is to promote social intercourse among its members . Christian Dietrich Grabbe described the club life as follows in 1827:

“For three winters, the local public has been enjoying a sociable public association under the name of Ressource. It consists of a majority of the educated and gathers on Sunday evenings in a spacious and tasteful bar to cheer up the hours with dancing, games and conversation . "

- Christian Dietrich Grabbe : Correspondence (quoted from Südfeld: The Resource Association in Detmold )

According to the files in the Detmold city archives , the members initially met in the Seiff restaurant in Neustadt 6. The number of members grew so that larger and, above all, closed rooms were necessary. In a lease from 1831, the Resource Society acquired the right to use an entire floor in the newly built Detmold town hall. The resource was the starting point of the bourgeois revolution of 1848 in Lippe . In the second half of the 19th century, the development of the city of Detmold and the state of Lippe was significantly influenced by members of the resource.

From 1872 a house on the Ameide was built by the association and on April 7, 1874 the first general assembly took place in-house. On September 26, 1883, the new club house burned down to the basement, but was rebuilt by the end of 1884. When the National Socialists came to power in 1933, the existence of the association was seriously endangered. The Nazis viewed it as a hotbed of reaction and the association's board dealt with the question of dissolving the resource. The house on the Ameide was sold to the Wehrmacht and a property at Allee 11 was acquired. During the Second World War , numerous members were drafted into the Wehrmacht and club life almost came to a standstill. After the end of the war, the house was confiscated by the British occupying forces and, after approval, was given to the Lippische Landesbrandversicherungsanstalt . In 1946, a small group ensured that the club was resumed and was finally able to move into the building at 11 Allee again in autumn 1951.

In 2000 the association celebrated its 175th anniversary.
