The Society for History and Archeology of Westphalia was founded in Paderborn in 1824 , and in Münster in 1825 as well .

They work together and operate under the following departments:

• Association for the History and Classical Studies of Westphalia, Dept. Paderborn
• Association for the History and Classical Studies of Westphalia, Department of Münster

Outwardly, both are often perceived as a single association .
