The "Association of Christian Entrepreneurs" (VCU) was founded in 1949 as a Swiss association for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurially minded executives who exercise their functions according to ethical principles and the understanding of the Christian faith. The VCU is religiously and politically independent.

She is a member of UNIAPAC ( International Association of Christian Entrepreneurs ). In 2007 the VCU had over 600 members, organized in seven regional groups. The current central president is Battaglia Reto.

Part of the VCU is the non-profit “Stiftung Offene Hand” founded in 1968, which supports self-help in the Third World.
