Ernst-Bernd Blümle

Ernst-Bernd Blümle (born August 6, 1932 in Sasbach , Black Forest , † April 1, 2008 in Freiburg im Üechtland ) was a German - Swiss economist . His brother is the economist Gerold Blümle, who has retired from the University of Freiburg im Breisgau .

Life

Blümle studied economics at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and the University of Friborg . He was first assistant to the Board of the Northwest shoe purchasing cooperative in Frankfurt and in 1958 in Friborg with a thesis on the functions of cooperative purchasing associations of the German shoe retail trade in a macroeconomic perspective to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . He was then a scientific assistant at the seminar for associations and cooperatives, spent a year at the European Institute for Management at theINSEAD in Fontainebleau , France , and another year at Harvard University in Boston , USA . From 1961 to 1964 he was Rector of the Muttenz Cooperative Seminar , Switzerland , which is now the Coop Education Center. In 1967 he completed his habilitation.

1968 Ernst-Bernd Blümle was appointed extraordinary professor, 1970 as Full Professor and Professor of Business Administration at the University of Friborg. He was the founder and president of the Institute for Association and Cooperative Management (VMI) at the university. From 1977 to 1979 he was Dean of the Faculties of Law, Economics and Social Sciences. He was also president of the university's plenary. In 2001 he retired .

Act

Blümle has published more than 140 scientific articles and papers, especially on non-profit organizations . He was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Johannes Kepler University in Linz . In 2001 he received the science award of the Rudolf Trauner Foundation.

In 2006 he was honored with the Swiss Baltic Net Prize for Swiss-Baltic exchange.

Blümle was a member of the Commission for Economic Development of the Canton of Friborg and the Management Committee of the Swiss Red Cross Friborg . In addition, until 2005 he was a member of the Scientific Commission “Public Business Administration” of the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration.

Ernst-Bernd Blümle had been a member of the Catholic student associations K.St.V. Carolingia-Friborg in the Kartellverband (KV) and since 1980 honorary member of the KDSt.V. Teutonia i. Ü. in the Cartel Association (CV) . He was also involved in the VCU - Association of Christian Entrepreneurs .
