The Verigy Ltd. was a manufacturer of test systems for semiconductor components based in Singapore . The German head office was located in Böblingen . There were also larger branches in the USA and China. On July 4, 2011, all shares were acquired by Advantest Corporation .

history

Verigy was formed in 2006 as a spin-off from the SOC (or IC ) tester division of Agilent Technologies . Agilent Technologies was again founded in 1999 as a spin-off from the measurement technology division (the original core business) of Hewlett-Packard .

In late 2010 it was announced that Verigy and LTX-Credence were planning to merge. Shortly thereafter, Advantest Corporation expressed an interest in acquiring Verigy. The board decided to accept the offer. Verigy's shares were transferred to Advantest on July 4, 2011 and were no longer traded. As of April 1, 2012, Verigy has fully merged with Advantest Corporation.

The merger of the German branch, Verigy Germany GmbH, with Advantest Europe GmbH already took place on March 12, 2012 with the entry in the Munich commercial register.

The original division at HP, which deals with semiconductor testers (BID = Böblingen Instruments Division), began to put together automatic semiconductor test systems (ATE = Automatic Test Equipment ) from the interconnection of individual laboratory measuring devices .
