Casing or tyrosis is a pathology term for coagulation necrosis with the formation of yellowish, dry, crumbly (" cheesy ") necrotic masses. It often occurs in tuberculosis and is accompanied by a complete loss of cell structures and membranes while maintaining the elastic and argent-affine fibers. After liquefaction and resorption , scarring occurs , otherwise a so-called tuberculous cavern develops .
