Argent affinity
Argentaffin is the ability of molecules in tissues to reduce ammoniacal silver nitrate without reducing agents in the course of a silver coloration (black coloration) and to form a compound with silver (Latin: argentum ). In contrast, argyrophilic molecules also bind silver ions to a greater extent, but must be reduced separately to make them visible.
