Type of traffic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term type of traffic is used in traffic planning. It serves to differentiate the type of traffic within an area with clearly defined boundaries ( traffic area , traffic cell, traffic area or traffic district ).

Traffic analysis

When planning a road, the future traffic load must be determined. For this purpose, the current traffic in traffic areas must be analyzed. The traffic area comprises an area on which the construction of new roads is likely to have an impact. A traffic forecast can be created from the data obtained, according to which the road can then be measured. But not only for the construction of new roads, but also for general traffic recording, the traffic must be counted and divided into appropriate categories.

A distinction is first made between public and private transport:

Traffic caused by transportation by public transport . Both rail-bound traffic and public traffic that takes place on the road are considered here.

The traffic generated by private vehicles. This also includes (motorized) two-wheeler and pedestrian traffic. Individual transport is separated into passenger and goods transport.
