The ordinance on the technical requirements for road vehicles VTS ( French Ordonnance concernant les exigences techniques requises pour les véhicules routiers OETV , Italian Ordinanza concernente le esigenze tecniche per i veicoli stradali OETV ) of June 19, 1995 is an ordinance of the Swiss Federal Council .

The ordinance defines the technical requirements for vehicles that are subject to the Road Traffic Act and defines their classification. In addition, the VTS contains provisions on vehicle tests .

The VTS replaced the ordinance of August 27, 1969 on the construction and equipping of road vehicles BAV, which came into force on October 1, 1969 .
