The systematic collection of federal law ( Systematic law collection , SR ) of Switzerland in accordance with Art. 11 of the Federal Act on the statute books and the Federal Gazette (Publications Law) of 21 March 1986 (SR 170.512) a tracked and ordered by subject collection in the Official Compilation published and still valid decrees, international and intercantonal agreements, international resolutions and the cantonal constitutions in Switzerland.

Systematic and official collection

The SR is basically a faithful reproduction of the decrees published in the Official Collection (AS). It is updated electronically and on paper usually four times a year. The SR is published in the three official languages ​​of the Swiss Confederation. The constitutions of the cantons are published in the respective canton languages. In contrast to the AS , the SR is only a means of information and has no negative legal force .

SR number

The decrees in the SR are arranged according to subject areas and have a systematic number. The following groups of numbers are in use, whereby decrees from the collection of international treaties are marked with a preceding number 0:

The SR number 210 is, for example, the Swiss Civil Code (CC), SR 211.1 for decrees in it contains personal law , SR 211,112 for regulations on the civil status and the fact SR 211.112.2 for the Civil Status Ordinance of 28. April 2004 (zstv). SR 0.515.03 - the preceding number 0 refers to the collection of international treaties, stands for the treaty of July 1, 1968 on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons . Probably the best known - if not the most important SR number - is SR 101. This stands for the Federal Constitution of the Swiss Confederation of April 18, 1999.
