Food allowance (Bundeswehr)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meals money is in the German Bundeswehr on the one hand the amount that professional soldiers and soldiers on time for their meals in the army kitchen have to pay, on the other hand, the amount that military pay received receiver if they are exempt from participating in public catering or can not be provided .

The amount of the meal allowance is based on the daily rate of the Social Insurance Remuneration Ordinance . In 2019 the food allowance is 8.37 euros (breakfast 1.77 euros, lunch and dinner 3.30 euros each).

The subsistence allowance for military service recipients ( voluntary military service and reservist service ) is generally paid out retrospectively as part of the military salary statement. The consignee can apply for an exemption from the obligation to participate in communal catering. This means that the meal allowance is paid in advance for the corresponding meals.

Food allowance can also be paid out to professional and temporary soldiers if they are obliged to take part in communal catering due to their participation in a special official business , but this cannot be provided.
