The constituency of Freiburg I (constituency 46) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . In the last state elections in 2016, it comprised the districts of Altstadt , Ebnet , Günterstal , Herdern , Kappel , Littenweiler , Mittel wiehre , Neuburg , Oberau , Oberwiehre and Waldsee of the Freiburg city district , the communities of Breitnau , Buchenbach , Eisenbach (Black Forest) , Feldberg (Black Forest) , Friedenweiler , Glottertal , Gundelfingen , Heuweiler , Hinterzarten , Kirchzarten , Lenzkirch , Löffingen , Oberried , St. Märgen , St. Peter , Schluchsee , Stegen and Titisee-Neustadt of the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the communities of Bernau in the Black Forest , Dachsberg (southern Black Forest) , Houses , Höchenschwand , Ibach , St. Blasien and Todtmoos in the district of Waldshut .
The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. The constituency Freiburg I initially only comprised the eastern districts of the city of Freiburg and the eastern part of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district . Due to the above-average population growth in the neighboring constituency of Waldshut , regroupings were necessary for the first time for the 1992 state election. That is why the communities of Bernau in the Black Forest , Dachsberg (southern Black Forest) , Häuser , Höchenschwand , Ibach , St. Blasien and Todtmoos were also assigned to the Freiburg I constituency from this constituency . From the 2011 state elections, the municipalities of Bonndorf in the Black Forest , Grafenhausen , Ühlingen-Birkendorf and Wutach also belonged to the Freiburg I constituency. The constituency is the only state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg to which municipalities from three different urban and rural districts belong.
