The constituency of Hechingen-Münsingen (constituency 61) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . It includes the municipalities of Bad Urach , Dettingen an der Erms , Engstingen , Eningen unter Achalm , Gomadingen , Grabenstetten , Grafenberg , Hayingen , Hohenstein , Hülben , Lichtenstein , Mehrstetten , Metzingen , Münsingen since January 1, 2011 without a municipality-free estate , Pfronstetten , Riederich , Römerstein , St. Johann , Sonnenbühl , Trochtelfingen and Zwiefalten from the Reutlingen district and Burladingen , Hechingen and Jungingen from the Zollernalb district .

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. In a first change to the state elections in 1992 due to uneven population growth in the Neckar-Alb region , the municipality of Sonnenbühl from the Reutlingen constituency was added to the Hechingen-Münsingen constituency compared to the original division . Regroupings were made again for the 2011 state elections. The municipalities of Bisingen , Grosselfingen and Rangendingen were incorporated into the constituency of Balingen , while Eningen under Achalm and Lichtenstein were added from the constituency of Reutlingen . Because of its elongated and curved shape, constituency 61 is popularly known as the banana constituency .
