The state constituency Schwäbisch Gmünd (constituency 25) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . In the 2006 state elections, it comprised the communities Abtsgmünd , Bartholomä , Böbingen an der Rems , Durlangen , Eschach , Göggingen , Gschwend , Heubach , Heuchlingen , Iggingen , Leinzell , Lorch , Mögglingen , Mutlangen , Obergröningen , Ruppertshofen , Schechingen , Täferäbraitisch Gmünd , Spechingen , Schwäbraitisch Gmünd , Sp and Waldstetten of the Ostalb district . The municipality of Essingen , which previously belonged to the constituency of Aalen , was added to the 2011 state election . In the 2016 election, 106,671 residents were entitled to vote.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has only one vote, which is used to determine both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament . There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates .
