Heuchlingen is a municipality in Baden-Württemberg and belongs to the Ostalb district .

Geographical location

Heuchlingen is located in the Leintal on the edge of the eastern Swabian Alb between Schwäbisch Gmünd and Aalen . The Lein separates the community of Heuchlingen into two halves of roughly the same size.

The municipality borders in the north on Schechingen and the district of Laubach of the municipality of Abtsgmünd , in the east on the district towns of Aalen and Essingen , in the south on Mögglingen and Böbingen an der Rems and in the west on Iggingen and the district of Horn in the municipality of Göggingen .

history

Heuchlingen was first mentioned in a document in 1236 . Since 1603 the community belonged to the prince provost of Ellwangen . In contrast to the majority of the prince's provosty, Heuchlingen came to the Oberamt Aalen in the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1803 . Since 1938 Heuchlingen belonged to the district of Schwäbisch Gmünd , with which it became part of the district reform of 1973 in the Ostalb district.

Economy and Infrastructure

The municipality of Heuchlingen is located in the rural area of ​​the Ostalb district between the large cities of Aalen (14 km) and Schwäbisch Gmünd (14 km). The total area amounts to a total of 903 hectares. The transport connections and the supply by public transport can be described as good. The next train station is only 4 km away in Mögglingen. The municipality of Heuchlingen is mainly a residential municipality, which is also known as the “Pearl of the Leintal” due to the wonderful landscape. In recent years the community has won a number of prizes in the competition "Our village should be more beautiful - our village has a future".

Heuchlingen has a wide variety of craft businesses and smaller businesses. Large industrial companies do not exist. The community has a very good public infrastructure. education

Instead of the previous kindergarten, a new 5-group kindergarten will be built in the center of the village in 2019. Here children from 1 year can be looked after in different group forms. A cafeteria is also integrated in the kindergarten building, which can be used by the kindergarten children as well as by the pupils of the neighboring Leintalschule.

The Leintalschule, which was completely renovated in 2011, is the local elementary school with around 65 students. The sports and recreation facility (community hall, sports field, playground, open space) is adjacent to the school.

All secondary school types (Werkrealschule, Realschule, Gymnasium, community school) are within a 10 kilometer radius in Abtsgmünd, Böbingen, Heubach and Leinzell.

With 1,800 residents, the local clubs have over 3,000 memberships. The largest club is the Turnverein Heuchlingen 1922 e. V. In the ten departments of the association, popular sports, health sports and top-class sports are offered for the more than 1,000 club members. Other associations are the Heuchlingen Riding and Driving Association (over 500 members), the music association, Liederkranz, the fruit and horticultural association , the ASHA helper group, the Holzleuten village community and the local groups of the Swabian Alb Association and the VdK.
