history
Tannhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1100 . At that time, the local nobility, the barons von und zu Thannhausen , was already based here and is still there today.
In addition to the local nobility, various ecclesiastical and secular lords had rights in the village. During the mediatization in 1806, Tannhausen came to Bavaria and finally on January 12, 1810 through the border treaty between the neighboring countries to the Kingdom of Württemberg , where it belonged to the district of Aalen , with which it finally became part of the new Ostalb district through the district reform of 1973 .
Religions
Since the Thannhausen barons remained Catholic, the Reformation passed the place by. Even today the majority of the inhabitants belong to the Roman Catholic denomination. The evangelical believers belong to the parish Walxheim .
