The constituency of Vaihingen (constituency 13) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . In the last state elections in 2016, it included the communities of Bönnigheim , Ditzingen , Eberdingen , Gerlingen , Hemmingen , Korntal-Münchingen , Markgröningen , Oberriexingen , Sachsenheim , Schwieberdingen , Sersheim and Vaihingen an der Enz from the Ludwigsburg district .
The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. Strong population growth in the neighboring constituency of Bietigheim-Bissingen made the first regrouping necessary for the 2006 state elections. For this reason, the Sachsenheim community was assigned to the Vaihingen constituency from this constituency . Since the state elections in 2011, the municipality of Bönnigheim from the Bietigheim-Bissingen constituency has also been part of the Vaihingen constituency.

Member of Parliament since 1976
In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has only one vote, which is used to determine both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament . There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates . The regulation, which was valid until the 2006 election, provided for these mandates to be allocated according to the absolute number of votes at the level of the administrative districts. The enlargement of the constituency of Vaihingen for the state elections in 2006 increased the chances for second mandates. The change in voting rights from 2011 with the allocation of mandates based on the percentage result per constituency did not have any relevant effects on the Vaihingen constituency.
The constituency of Vaihingen has been represented by the following members in the state parliament since 1976:
Political party | Type of mandate | Elected |
---|---|---|
CDU | First mandate |
Annemarie Griesinger 1976, 1980 Günther Oettinger 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2001, 2006, resigned from office in February 2010 Albrecht Fischer , moved up on February 6, 2010 Konrad Epple 2011 |
Second mandate | Konrad Epple 2016 | |
GREEN | First mandate | Markus Rösler 2016 |
Second mandate | Markus Rösler 2011 | |
SPD | Second mandate | Wolfgang Stehmer 2006 |
