Konrad Epple (born August 4, 1963 in Stuttgart - Bad Cannstatt ) is a Baden-Württemberg politician of the CDU and a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

education

After attending primary and secondary school in Ditzingen , Konrad Epple completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith from 1979 to 1982 . After attending master school from 1987 to 1988, he became a master locksmith in 1988. He has been self-employed since 2004.

Political activity

Konrad Epple joined the Junge Union in 1977 and the CDU two years later. He was first a board member and then chairman of the Junge Union in Ditzingen. He now holds both positions at the CDU city association of Ditzingen. He was also a district board member and deputy district chairman of the Junge Union Ludwigsburg. Today he is an assessor on the CDU district executive.

Epple has been a councilor for the city of Ditzingen since 1988 and a member of the Ludwigsburg district council since 1996. Since 1999 he has been the first deputy mayor of the city of Ditzingen. From 2000 to 2010 he was an honorary administrative judge at the Stuttgart Administrative Court . From 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the regional assembly of the Stuttgart Region Association .

In the Ditzingen mayoral election in 2007, Epple ran for the office of mayor, but despite the support of the Ditzingen CDU local association, he was clearly defeated by incumbent Michael Makurath with 19.65 percent of the votes and re-elected with 80.18 percent of the votes succeeded.

In July 2010, Epple applied to the CDU nomination meeting as a direct candidate for the 2011 state elections ; his opponent was Albrecht Fischer, who had moved to the state parliament in February 2010 for Günther Oettinger who had left the state parliament . In the first ballot, Fischer was with 172 votes ahead of Epple with 171 votes and thus narrowly missed the necessary absolute majority. In the second ballot, Epple won (171 votes) against Fischer (168 votes). In the state elections in 2011, Epple won the direct mandate in the constituency 13 Vaihingen with 38.8 percent of the vote and thus moved into the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Private

Konrad Epple is a Protestant and single. Since 1982 he has been a member of the Ditzingen volunteer fire department . In 1998 he was elected deputy department commander. From 2000 to 2005 he was department commander.
