The constituency of Tübingen (constituency 62) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . It includes the communities Ammerbuch , Bodelshausen , Dettenhausen , Mössingen , Neustetten , Ofterdingen , Rottenburg am Neckar , and Tübingen from the Tübingen district . 134,421 residents were eligible to vote in the 2016 state elections.

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. The constituency of Tübingen was initially identical to the district of Tübingen , but had to be downsized for the 1992 state elections due to the above-average population growth. That is why the communities of Kirchentellinsfurt and Kusterdingen were assigned to the neighboring constituency of Reutlingen . For the 2011 state elections, the municipalities of Dußlingen , Gomaringen and Nehren were also incorporated into the Reutlingen constituency. In 2019, the constituency was reduced again, the communities of Hirrlingen and Starzach were moved to the constituency of Balingen .

Member of Parliament since 1956

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has only one vote, which is used to determine both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament . There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates . The previous regulation, which provided for the allocation of these mandates according to the absolute number of votes at the level of the administrative districts, favored the constituency of Tübingen considerably. This was partly due to the above-average population, and partly to the comparatively low share of votes for the CDU and the associated higher results from the other parties.

The constituency of Tübingen has been represented by the following members in the state parliament since 1960:
