The Stuttgart IV constituency (constituency 04) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . It includes the urban districts of Stuttgart-Ost , Bad Cannstatt , Obertürkheim , Untertürkheim , Wangen and Mühlhausen of the urban district of Stuttgart . In the state elections in 2011 , 91,980 residents were eligible to vote.
The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. The four Stuttgart constituencies remained unchanged during this period until the 2006 state elections. However, there have been changes in the constituency layout for the first time since the 2011 state election. Because there are still four whole constituencies in Stuttgart, even though each of these constituencies is considerably below the average in terms of population, an attempt was made to adjust the size of the constituencies so that the respective deviation amounts remain as small as possible. Therefore, in 2011, individual city districts were divided between different constituencies. From the constituency Stuttgart IV the neighborhoods were Gänsheide and Uhlandshöhe of the Municipality Stuttgart-Ost the constituency Stuttgart I allocated. To compensate for this, the district of Hedelfingen (until 2006 constituency Stuttgart II ) and the district of Neugereut from the urban district of Mühlhausen (until 2006 constituency Stuttgart III ) will in future be incorporated into the Stuttgart IV constituency.
