The constituency of Enz (constituency 44) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . In the last state elections in 2016, it comprised the communities Eisingen , Friolzheim , Heimsheim , Illingen , Kämpfelbach , Keltern , Knittlingen , Königsbach-Stein , Maulbronn , Mönsheim , Mühlacker , Neuenbürg , Neuhausen , Neulingen , Niefern-Öschelbronn , Ölbronn-Dürrn , Ötisheim , Remchingenheim , Sternenfels , Straubenhardt , Tiefenbronn , Wiernsheim , Wimsheim and Wurmberg from the Enzkreis .

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. The constituency of Enz has always been one of the largest constituencies in terms of population. Its area was initially identical to the Enzkreis , until the low population growth in the city of Pforzheim compared to the national trend led to the first change in the constituency structure for the 1992 state elections. The municipality of Birkenfeld was assigned to the neighboring constituency of Pforzheim . In the state elections in 2011, the communities Engelsbrand , Ispringen and Kieselbronn were also incorporated into the Pforzheim constituency.

Member of Parliament since 1976

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has only one vote, which is used to determine both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament . There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates . In the 2011 state elections, the previous regulation, which provided for these mandates to be allocated based on the absolute number of votes at the level of the administrative districts and which significantly favored applicants from the Enz constituency, was no longer applicable.

The Enz constituency has been represented in the state parliament since 1976:
