Hans Roth (politician, 1923)

Hans Roth (born September 21, 1923 in Offenburg ; † beginning of August 2009 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Roths grew up in Karlsruhe, after graduating from high school in the Württemberg Artillery Regiment 25 took part in the Second World War and after his return from English captivity, studied history and literature at the universities of Tübingen and Freiburg i. Br. After completing his doctorate, he completed a youth leader course at the International Institute of the YMCA at Mainau Castle. His professional career began in 1950 as the educational director of the Christian Youth Village Association at Kaltenstein Castle in Vaihingen an der Enz . In 1954 he became head of the first social pedagogical institute in the youth village in the Calw district at Mühlhausen Castle . There he was also the overall director of the social pedagogical institute.

politics

Roth belonged to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 1968 to 1988 and was at times deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He initially represented the constituency of Leonberg , which included the districts of Leonberg and Vaihingen , and from 1976 the constituency of Enz and thus the Enzkreis . He was also a member of the district council from 1973 to 1980 and at that time also chairman of the board of trustees of the state center for political education in Baden-Württemberg . After his time in the state parliament he was chairman of the non-partisan Europe Union Pforzheim-Enzkreis.

Lothar Späth described Hans Roth as "statesmanlike and never populist". He was widowed and had three daughters. He was buried in Pforzheim .
