The Point Theater was a concert and event hall in the Irish capital Dublin on the banks of the Liffey , which existed from 1988 to 2007.

The hall in Dublin Docklands with 8,500 seats was multifunctional. So found z. B. Boxing matches, wrestling, exhibitions and numerous concerts take place. Here u. a. REM , U2 , The Rolling Stones , Nirvana , Kylie Minogue , Def Leppard , Britney Spears , Blink-182 , Oasis , Tool and David Bowie .

The Eurovision Song Contest took place here three times: 1994 , 1995 and 1997 , as well as the MTV Europe Music Awards 1999 .

After the closure, the Point Theater was converted into The O₂ (today:  3Arena ) with a maximum of 14,500 seats.
