Schloss Mühlhausen an der Enz is a castle in Mühlacker in the Enz district .
history
In 1508, Hereditary Marshal Konrad Thumb von Neuburg received the village of Mulhouse from Emperor Maximilian as a fief . Mühlhausen Castle was built in 1566 and was owned by the Thumb von Neuburg family until 1658 . Then it was sold to Johann von Hohenfeld . In 1689 and 1693 Mühlhausen was burned by the French invasions. The castle has now changed hands several times: Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg acquired Mühlhausen in 1785, Baron von Redwitz in 1835, Albert Grab became master of Mühlhausen Castle in 1844, and in 1873 it was inherited by Adelheid von Neubronn , nee. Grab and two years later Major Franz Bopp inherited the castle from his wife Marie Kroll.
In 1961 the Christian Youth Village Association in Germany acquired the castle and sold it again in private ownership in 1996. During the renovation carried out by the new owner Roland Rauschmayer in 2008, several Renaissance paintings at least 440 years old were found under the plaster. The castle houses a winery and is used as a venue for events. The ensemble is a listed building .
