Gottfried Haase

Gottfried Haase (* 20th August 1923 in Dürrröhrsdorf ; † 6. June 2014 in Heimsheim ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Life and politics

After the Second World War, which he survived as a severely disabled person, Gottfried Haase initially worked as a teacher at the Ludwig Uhland School in Heimsheim .

Haase was a co-founder of the Heimsheim local association of the SPD and was a member of the district council in the Leonberg district between 1959 and 1965 . From 1964 to 1980 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He won the direct mandate in the Leonberg constituency in 1964 , a second mandate in 1968 and 1972 , and in 1976 he was elected via a second mandate in the Enz constituency. After retiring from political work, he spent his old age very withdrawn due to age-related restrictions.

He was a long-time employee in the social association VdK .

Honors

In 1978 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany. On 12 May 1984 he was the then Prime Minister Lothar Späth , the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg awarded. Gottfried Haase is an honorary citizen of his hometown Heimsheim.
