The constituency of Ravensburg (constituency 69) is a state electoral district in the southeast of Baden-Württemberg . In the last state election in 2011, it comprised the municipalities of Altshausen , Baienfurt , Baindt , Berg , Bodnegg , Boms , Ebenweiler , Ebersbach-Musbach , Eichstegen , Fleischwangen , Fronreute , Grünkraut , Guggenhausen , Horgenzell , Hoßkirch , Königseggwald , Ravensburg , Riedhausen , Schlier , Unterwaldhausen , Waldburg , Weingarten , Wilhelmsdorf and Wolpertswende from the Ravensburg district and the communities of Neukirch , Meckenbeuren and Tettnang from the Lake Constance district . 121,836 residents of the constituency were eligible to vote.

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. The constituency of Ravensburg initially only included communities from the western part of the Ravensburg district . As a result of above-average population growth in the neighboring Lake Constance district , changes were necessary for the first time in the 1992 state election. The communities Neukirch and Tettnang from the constituency of Lake Constance were assigned to the constituency of Ravensburg. In the state elections in 2011, the municipality of Meckenbeuren was also attached to the constituency of Ravensburg and, as a compensation, the municipality of Aulendorf to the constituency of Wangen .

Member of Parliament since 1976

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has only one vote, which is used to determine both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament . There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates .

Although the second mandates were assigned according to the order of priority of the absolute votes according to the regulation valid until 2006 and at the same time the constituency of Ravensburg had belonged to the larger constituencies since 1992, it was only represented in the state parliament by one directly elected member of the CDU between 1976 and 2006 . In 2011 Manfred Lucha (Greens) won a second mandate.
