August Schuler
August Maria Schuler (born August 15, 1957 in Ravensburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since 2016 .
Professional career
Schuler grew up on the Mönchmühle Ravensburg , his father's business (now August Schuler Mönchmühle OHG ). After high school at Albert Einstein High School Ravensburg 1977, a three-year training followed in the Bundeswehr to engineer officer in Ingolstadt and Munich . After about 40 military exercises as platoon leader , company commander , battalion commander Jägerregiment 10 Pfullendorf and press staff officer with the 10th Panzer Division inSigmaringen was promoted to Colonel d. R.
From 1980 to 1984 he studied earth sciences in Würzburg and Innsbruck . He then worked as a freelance geologist in the stone and earth industry. From 1984 he and his wife ran the “Ratsstube” on Marienplatz in Ravensburg and from 2012 also ran the “Bachmaier - Die Landwirtschaft” restaurant in Berg . The council chamber is now run by their son August Schuler junior.
Political career
Schuler has been city councilor of Ravensburg since 1989 , district councilor of the Ravensburg district since 1991 and since 2001 on the board of the CDU Württemberg-Hohenzollern .
In the state elections in 2016 , he entered the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg through the second mandate of constituency 69 (Ravensburg) . In parliament he is a member of the Committee on Transport and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector.
Others
Schuler is involved in many clubs and associations in his region, including the development associations for the renovation of the flour sack and the Burghaldentorkel, in the Kyffhäuser Soldiers' Comradeship and in the German War Graves Association . As a member of the Ravensburg Blood Rider Group, Schuler takes part in the annual “ Blood Ride ” procession in Weingarten. He is a member of the AV Ravenspurgia Ravensburg student association.

Schuler is married and has two daughters and a son.
