The constituency of Villingen-Schwenningen (constituency 54) is a state electoral district in the south of Baden-Württemberg . In the last state elections in 2011, it comprised the northern and central part of the Schwarzwald-Baar district with the municipalities of Bad Dürrheim , Bräunlingen , Brigachtal , Dauchingen , Furtwangen in the Black Forest , Gütenbach , Königsfeld in the Black Forest , Mönchweiler , Niedereschach , St. Georgen in the Black Forest , Schönwald in the Black Forest , Schonach in the Black Forest , Triberg in the Black Forest , Tuningen , Unterkirnach , Villingen-Schwenningen and Vöhrenbach , synonymous with the central area of Villingen-Schwenningen. 121,863 residents of the constituency were eligible to vote.
The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. The 2011 state elections saw the first change in the layout of the Villingen-Schwenningen constituency. In order to equalize the constituency sizes, the community of Bräunlingen from the neighboring constituency of Tuttlingen-Donaueschingen was incorporated into the constituency of Villingen-Schwenningen.
