Martina Braun

Martina Braun (born April 3, 1960 in Furtwangen in the Black Forest ) is a Baden-Württemberg politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament .

education and profession

In 1976, Braun completed a three-year apprenticeship as a pharmaceutical technical assistant (PTA) at the vocational school in Freiburg. She then worked in various pharmacies for five years. She and her husband have been running an organic farm in Furtwangen, Linach district, since 1983 .

Political activity

From 1999 to 2009 Braun was the Deputy Mayor of Linach. In 2008 she joined the Alliance 90 / The Greens party. Martina Braun has been a district councilor in the Schwarzwald-Baar district since 2009, and has also been a member of the board of the district association of the Greens there since 2012. In 2011 she ran for the first time for her party as a direct candidate in the regional constituency of Villingen-Schwenningen . In the course of the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , she was able to prevail against the previous representative of the constituency, Karl Rombach (CDU), and won the first mandate with 31.6% of the vote , the first for the Greens.

Martina Braun is the spokesperson for rural areas in her parliamentary group. She heads the working group for rural areas and consumer protection of the parliamentary group and is a member of the committee of the same name and the committee on petitions. Her main topics are sustainable agriculture and mobility in rural areas.

Family and private

Martina Braun has been married to Roman Braun since 1983 and is the mother of three children.
