Dauchingen is a municipality in Baden-Württemberg in the Schwarzwald-Baar district .
geography
Geographical location
Dauchingen lies on the flat, undulating Baar plateau , which flattens towards the east and slopes steeply in the east into the valley of the upper Neckar , which flows a few hundred meters through the district in the south-east. The distance to the district town of Villingen-Schwenningen is four kilometers, five kilometers to Niedereschach and six kilometers to Trossingen .
Land use
The location is surrounded by areas that are used intensively for agriculture. Biotopes worth protecting are no longer preserved. An exception are the fruit trees and the bird protection trees on the eastern and partly on the southern outskirts.
The Neckar valley in the east of Dauchingen is designated as a landscape protection area. The Johann-Linde is a natural monument .
Neighboring communities
The community borders in the north on Niedereschach , in the east on Deißlingen in the district of Rottweil and in the south and west on Villingen-Schwenningen.

The Dauchingen community includes the village of Dauchingen, the Längetalhof house and homestead, the Neckartalmühle homestead and the Auf Firsten house. In the municipal area are the abandoned villages Hinterhöfen, Riesenburg, Turm ze Tochingen and Zaunstetten.

The local council in Dauchingen consists of the twelve elected voluntary councilors and the mayor as chairman. The mayor is entitled to vote in the municipal council. The local elections on May 26, 2019 led to the following preliminary final result.

The public transport in Dauchingen is from Verkehrsverbund Schwarzwald-Baar guaranteed. About three kilometers east of Dauchingen there is a connection to the Rottweil – Villingen railway line at Trossingen station .
The state road 423 runs through the village. At the southern edge of the municipality it meets the federal road 523 , via which the federal road 27 and the highway 81 can be reached in about four kilometers.
