Renate Thon

Renate Thon (born July 18, 1949 in Hornburg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 1996 to 2001 she was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Pforzheim, Thon studied at the Karlsruhe University of Education and was a teacher at primary and secondary schools until 1978. She then completed retraining to become an employment agency and from 1980 worked at the Pforzheim employment office. Thon has two children.

politics

In 1986 Thon was elected to the board of the Pforzheim / Enz Green District Association. In 1989 she became a member of the municipal council of Pforzheim, in which she was later elected chairman of the parliamentary group. From 1996 to 2001 she was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Wuerttemberg, in which she represented the second mandate of the constituency 44 Enz and was deputy group chairman from 2000 to 2001. Subsequently, Thon was together with Andreas Braun chairwoman of the Baden-Württemberg state association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen until 2003 . In 2004 Thon was again a member of the Pforzheim municipal council, to which she was re-elected in 2009 and 2014.
