Oliver Hildenbrand (born February 10, 1988 in Wertheim ) is a German politician. Since November 2013 he has been the state chairman of the Baden-Württemberg regional association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

Life

Hildenbrand graduated from the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Gymnasium in Wertheim. After a voluntary social year at the Center for Psychiatry Emmendingen , he studied psychology at the Universities of Bamberg and Bonn .

Political offices

Oliver Hildenbrand has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and the Green Youth since December 2004 . From January 2005 he was involved in the local board of the Wertheim Greens, to which he was a member until March 2008. In the 2006 state elections in Baden-Württemberg , he ran in the Main-Tauber constituency as the youngest candidate for the state parliament in the state . Between September 2006 and November 2010 he was a member of the district board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Main-Tauber .

Oliver Hildenbrand was elected spokesman for the Green Youth Baden-Württemberg in May 2007. With his successful re-election in 2009, he represented the positions and interests of the youth association in the party and in public for a total of four years.

From March 2010 onwards he was a member of the program commission of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Baden-Württemberg for the 2011 state election . After the election success, he took part on the green side in the coalition negotiations to form the first green-red state government .

In October 2011 Oliver Hildenbrand was elected to the state board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Baden-Württemberg . Since November 2013 he has been state chairman of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Baden-Württemberg.

Oliver Hildenbrand belonged to the negotiating delegation of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Baden-Württemberg for the coalition negotiations with the CDU Baden-Württemberg to form the first green-black state government . Hildenbrand was negotiator for the Greens in the areas of "home affairs and justice" and "social affairs and society". He is also one of the signatories of the green-black coalition agreement entitled "Designing Baden-Württemberg: Reliable. Sustainable. Innovative." *.

Positions

In 2013, Hildenbrand, among others, criticized the questioning of political sentiments among police officers in Baden-Württemberg. Interior Minister Reinhold Gall (SPD) considered expanding the relevant questionnaire to all applicants for civil service. After protests from Hildenbrand and others, Gall rowed back.

In the dispute over “ safe third countries ”, Hildenbrand, like the majority of the Greens, opposed an expansion to Algeria , Morocco and Tunisia. He said that Prime Minister Kretschmann would have had to choose between the coalition partner and his party in his approving stance and would have opted for the former.

Hildenbrand commented on the “100-day balance” of the Green-Black state government in August 2016: after the election of Green-Black in March 2016, there was “a change of government, but no change in policy”.
