Christian Kühn (born April 9, 1979 in Tübingen ) is a German politician and political scientist. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2013 . From 2009 to 2013 he was state chairman of the Baden-Württemberg regional association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . Since 2013 he has been the spokesman for building and housing policy for the parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

Life

Kühn grew up in Göppingen , graduated from high school and community service and then studied political science and sociology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . After graduating in 2009, he worked in the dean's office of the economic faculty.

Kühn was active in the youth council and in the nature conservation youth during his school days . He has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1998 . From 2002 to 2006 and again from 2008 to 2010 he was a member of the district board of the Tübingen district association of the Greens. He worked in the constituency office of Winfried Hermann , member of the Bundestag . At the State Delegate Conference (LDK) in Biberach in November 2009 , the Baden-Württemberg Greens, together with Silke Krebs , elected him as one of two equal state chairmen. At the LDK in October 2011 in Aalen , he was confirmed in office , alongside his newly elected co-chair Thekla Walker , with a record result of 95.7 percent.

On July 13, 2012, he was nominated as a candidate for the Bundestag in Tübingen. In the 2013 federal election , he moved into the Bundestag in 6th place on the Baden-Württemberg state list . On this list, he was re-elected to the 19th German Bundestag in the 2017 Bundestag election after his district association had nominated him again for the Bundestag election with 97.8 percent. Since December 2013 he has been the spokesman for building and housing policy for the Bundestag parliamentary group of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and represents his parliamentary group as a full member and chairman in the committee for building, housing, urban development and local authorities . Chris Kühn is also a deputy member of the committees for the environment, nature conservation and nuclear safety, as well as the committee for legal and consumer protection. In the 19th German Bundestag, Kühn is also a deputy member of the budget committee .

Chris Kühn puts one focus of his political and parliamentary work on the reintroduction of non-profit housing. This is intended to give special tax incentives to property developers who act for the common good and permanently provide affordable housing, such as municipal housing associations, building cooperatives or private associations or individuals.

He is one of the proponents of the unconditional basic income . He rejects Stuttgart 21 . Kühn is a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany .

He lives in the Tübingen district, is married and has two sons and a daughter.
