The Committee for Building, Housing, Urban Development and Municipalities is a permanent parliamentary committee . The current chairperson is Mechthild Heil ( CDU / CSU ).

The committee currently consists of 24 members.

tasks

The committee deals with a variety of challenges. While some municipalities are struggling with declining populations and vacancies, in metropolitan areas it is a matter of creating new and above all affordable living space. The committee discusses topics such as building land, various instruments to support home ownership formation, as well as programs of the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). Another topic of the committee are the federal funding programs in the area of ​​urban development.
