Elisabeth Kaiser

Elisabeth Kaiser (born Lier ; born March 4, 1987 in Gera ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and administrative scientist. She has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

In 2005 Kaiser passed the Abitur at what was then the Albert Schweitzer Gymnasium in Gera. From 2005 to 2008 she completed a bachelor's degree in political science at the University of Erfurt ; from 2009 to 2012 a master’s degree in political and administrative sciences followed at the University of Potsdam . After completing her studies, she initially worked for a management consultancy; From 2013 to 2014 she was the office manager of the German Society for Political Advice (de'ge'pol) and from 2014 until her election to the Bundestag in 2017 she was the press spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament.

From 2010 to 2014 she was a member of the Young European Movement Berlin-Brandenburg. In 2012 Kaiser joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and in the same year became a member of the board of the SPD local association in Babelsberg / Potsdam. She has been the district chairwoman of the SPD Gera since 2018.

In January 2017 she was nominated for the 2017 Bundestag election as a direct SPD candidate for the Gera - Greiz - Altenburger Land constituency and entered the 19th German Bundestag via second place on the SPD Thuringian state list .

In the 19th German Bundestag , Kaiser is a full member of the Committee on Building, Housing, Urban Development and Local Authorities , as well as the Committee on Home Affairs and Home Affairs and the Board of Trustees of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. She is also a deputy member of the Committee for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth , the Committee for Digital Agenda , and the Sub- Committee for Civic Engagement.

She is married and has a stepson. She lives in Gera.
