Petra Nicolaisen (born December 12, 1965 in Schleswig ) is a German politician ( CDU ), was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament from 2009 to 2017 and has been a member of the 19th German Bundestag since 2017 .

education and profession

After completing secondary school, Petra Nicolaisen trained as an industrial clerk from 1982 to 1985 and completed an apprenticeship to manage a local and long-distance freight company in 1986. From 1985 to 1987 she was employed in the financial accounting department in an EU slaughterhouse and since 1987 has been employed in her husband's company, the livestock trading company Jürgen-Peter Nicolaisen GmbH .

Petra Nicolaisen is an Evangelical Lutheran, married and has two children.

politics

She has been a member of the Junge Union since 1982 and of the CDU since 1993. From 1994 to 2003 she was community representative of the community of Wanderup for her party , from 2003 to 2013 mayor of the community of Wanderup and from 2008 to 2013 second deputy head of the Eggebek office . From December 2007 to 2009 Nicolaisen was a member of the district assembly, from which she was deputy chairman of the district assembly from 2008. She has been deputy CDU district chairman since 2011. Petra Nicolaisen is also deputy state chairwoman of the Women's Union and an assessor in the KPV state board .

For the 17th electoral period, 2009, she was elected to the Schleswig-Holstein Landtag for the first time, where she was a member of the Interior and Legal Affairs Committee, as well as the Environment, Agriculture and Petitions Committee. In addition, she was a member of the inquiry commission "Chances of a stronger North German cooperation" and a deputy member of the data protection committee and the judges' selection committee. From 2010 to 2012 Nicolaisen was a member of the Low German Advisory Board, which was founded in order to "institutionalize the Low German - politics relationship and to work together to preserve and maintain Low German."

In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012 , she again entered the state parliament as a direct candidate, continued her work in the home and legal committee and also worked as a member of the committee for the preparation of the election of the members of the state constitutional court and deputy member of the finance committee. She continued her office as a deputy member of the Judges' Election Committee in the 18th electoral term.

In the state elections in 2017 , she moved into the state parliament again for the 19th electoral term with 39.7 percent of the first votes as directly elected member of the Flensburg-Land constituency . She in turn became a member of the Home and Legal Affairs Committee, as well as the Social Committee. In addition, she worked as chairman of the CDU parliamentary group inside and law and as a member of the CDU parliamentary group executive committee.

After Sabine Sütterlin-Waack, member of the Bundestag, moved to Schleswig-Holstein as minister, Petra Nicolaisen decided to run for the 19th German Bundestag and on July 11, 2017 was 67.5 percent at the CDU constituency assembly for the Bundestag constituency of Flensburg - Schleswig (WK 001) nominated

In the 2017 Bundestag election , she received 40.0 percent of the first votes and thus entered the German Bundestag directly. She is a member of the Committee for Home Affairs and Homeland and supports the President of Parliament as secretary . She is a member of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference and Deputy Chair of the German-Nordic Parliamentary Group.

Social Commitment

Petra Nicolaisen was chairwoman of the Wanderuper business association and its co-founder for ten years. Since 2012 she has been a board member of the Hermann Ehlers Foundation eV and board member of the Schleswig-Holstein Academy for Rural Areas. Since June 2016 she has also been a member of the supervisory board of the Flensburg Deaconess Hospital .
