Ulrich Lange (born June 6, 1969 in Meran , South Tyrol) is a German lawyer and politician . As a member of the CSU , he has been a member of the German Bundestag since autumn 2009 .

Career

Long grew up in Nördlingen in northern Swabia . There he passed his Abitur in 1988 at the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium . He then did his 15-month basic military service in the Luitpold barracks in Dillingen an der Donau as a telecommunications operator. In 1989 he started to study law at the University of Regensburg , where he passed the first state examination in 1993 and, after a legal clerkship in Augsburg, the second state examination in 1995. In 1996 he established himself as a lawyer specializing in labor law and family law and has been a partner in a law firm in Nördlingen since 1999.

His political career began in February 1992 with the re-establishment of the local association of the Junge Union in Nördlingen, which he led until 1999. At the same time he was a member of the board of the JU district association Donau-Ries and the JU Schwaben . In 1999 he took over the local chairmanship of the CSU Nördlingen, which he held until 2011. He has been the district chairman of the CSU Donau-Ries since 2013.

He took on his first political mandate after the local elections in the spring of 2002 as a city councilor in Nördlingen, where he chaired the CSU parliamentary group. He resigned his city council mandate in 2018 for personal reasons. Since 2002 he has also had a mandate in the Donau-Ries district council. There he has been chairman of the CSU / JB parliamentary group since May 1, 2008. In the spring of 2009 he was elected as the successor to Hans Raidel as a direct candidate of the CSU for the Bundestag constituency of Donau-Ries . After the Bundestag election in 2009 , he moved to the German Bundestag for the first time as a member of parliament. From January 2014 to January 2018 he was chairman of the "Transport and Digital Infrastructure" working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and thus the transport policy spokesman for the Union parliamentary group . Lange was a member of the committee of inquiry into the VW emissions scandal . Since January 2018 he has been deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group responsible for transport and digital infrastructure, construction.

Lange is a member of the 2nd parliamentary committee of inquiry of the 19th electoral term of the Bundestag (vulgo: toll affair committee of inquiry ). He is chairman for his parliamentary group.

In the 19th German Bundestag, Lange is the chairman of the 2nd committee of inquiry. He is also a deputy member of the Committee for Construction, Housing, Urban Development and Municipalities , as well as the Committee for Transport and Digital Infrastructure .

Private

Lange is Catholic , married and has two children. He is a Catholic denomination.
