Alexander Throm (born September 8, 1968 in Heilbronn ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ). From 2011 to 2016 he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament for the Heilbronn constituency . As a direct candidate for the 2017 Bundestag election in the Heilbronn constituency , he was elected a member of the German Bundestag in the 19th German Bundestag .

education and profession

Throm visited in Heilbronn the Silcher school (elementary school) and the Justinus Kerner-Gymnasium and completed his schooling in 1988 at the Business School of Gustav von Schmoller School in Heilbronn . He completed his law studies at the University of Mannheim in 1993 with the first state examination. The legal clerkship at the Heilbronn District Court was followed by the second state examination in 1995. He then worked initially as an employee and later as a partner in a Heilbronn law firm. In 2001 he founded the law firm THSB - Throm, Hauser, Strobl, von Berlichingen with several partners in Heilbronn . Alexander Throm is a specialist lawyer for construction and architectural law and a specialist lawyer for labor law. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kreissparkasse Heilbronn .

politics

Throm joined the Junge Union in 1984 and the CDU in 1986. He is active in Heilbronn local politics for the CDU. He has been a city councilor since 1994, from 2003 to 2018 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the local council and first deputy to the mayor from among the local council. From 2006 to 2018 he was chairman of the CDU city association Heilbronn, since 2007 deputy chairman of the CDU district association Heilbronn. On November 25, 2017, he was elected district chairman after Bernhard Lasotta , member of the state parliament, did not run again.

In the Baden-Württemberg state election on March 27, 2011 , he ran as the successor to the previous CDU member Johanna Lichy in the Heilbronn constituency and won the first mandate with 37.0 percent of the vote . In the state elections in 2016 , he was not re-elected with 22.7 percent.

In the state parliament he was a member of the following committees: Interior Committee , Committee for Europe and International Affairs , chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the EnBW Deal investigation committee .

Within the CDU parliamentary group he was a member of the parliamentary group executive committee, chairman of the working group "Inquiry committee for the purchase of EnBW shares", member of the working group "Domestic Policy", member of the working group "Europe and International Affairs", specialist political spokesman for large cities.

On November 19, 2016, he was nominated by the electoral district assembly of the CDU Heilbronn as a candidate for the election of the 19th German Bundestag in the Bundestag constituency of Heilbronn (267). With the election to the 19th German Bundestag , he successfully prevailed against his competitors for the direct mandate and has been a member of the German Bundestag since then .

The CDU / CSU parliamentary group sent Throm as a full member to the interior committee and the committee for election review, immunity and rules of procedure . Throm is also a deputy member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development and the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection.

Since September 26, 2019, Throm has been a full member of the 1st committee of inquiry "on the attack on Breitscheidplatz in Berlin on December 19, 2016 ".

Alexander Throm has been married since 1996 and has a son and a daughter. He lives with his family in Heilbronn.
