Committee on Election Review, Immunity and Rules of Procedure

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Committee for Election Review, Immunity and Rules of Procedure is a committee of the German Bundestag .

tasks

The committee deals with procedural disputes assigned to it by the Bundestag's Council of Elders as well as with questions of parliamentary law and proposes reforms of the internal rules. The Parliamentary Participation Act, which regulates the participation of the Bundestag in foreign deployments of the Bundeswehr, was primarily discussed by the Committee on the Rules of Procedure.

As the Committee for Immunity Matters, it examines whether criminal investigations against a member of the Bundestag have already been approved by the decision of the German Bundestag regarding the lifting of immunity. If necessary, the Immunity Committee recommends that the German Bundestag lift the immunity of a member of parliament if criminal investigations are to be carried out against him in connection with insults of a political nature or if criminal prosecution measures or house searches are to be ordered.

As an electoral review committee, it also reviews objections to the correctness of federal elections.
