Katja Keul

Katja Keul , née Fehsenfeld , (born November 30, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and lawyer .

education and profession

From 1989 to 1994 she studied law in Heidelberg and, after completing her legal clerkship in Brandenburg, passed the second state examination in Potsdam in May 1997, before settling down as a lawyer in the Verden district court . She opened her own law firm in Marklohe in 2000 and was appointed specialist lawyer for family law in the same year . Until September 2009 she was chairwoman of the Nienburg Lawyers 'Association, which is part of the German Lawyers' Association . From 2007 to 2011 she was the delegate of the Celle Bar Association for the 4th Statutory Assembly of the Federal Bar Association (Bar Parliament).

MPs and party

Keul has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2006. In the 2009 Bundestag election , she entered the German Bundestag (17th electoral term) as a candidate on her party's state list in Lower Saxony (5th place ). There she was a member of the Defense Committee and an alternate member of the Legal Committee . She also served as one of four parliamentary directors in the group. Katja Keul is also a member of the 18th German Bundestag. She received her mandate as the top candidate on the Lower Saxony state list of her party. Keul has been a member of the committee pursuant to Section 23c (8) of the Customs Investigation Service Act since 2018 .

Katja Keul has been the chairman of the Subcommittee on Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and a member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since 2019 . She is also a full member of the Defense Committee and the Legal and Consumer Protection Committee . Keul is represented as a deputy member in the electoral committee , the electoral review committee and the subcommittee of the defense committee.

Memberships

Keul is a member of the European Union parliamentary group of the German Bundestag , board member of the Nienburg district association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and a member of the "State Working Group on Europe and International Politics" of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Lower Saxony.

Private

She is married and has three children. Katja Keul lives in Marklohe in the Nienburg district .
