Michael Hannes Kiessling (* 29. May 1973 in Ruti ) is a German politician of the CSU , graduate civil engineer and since 2017 a member of the 19th German Bundestag .

education and profession

From 1991 to 1993, Kießling was a regular soldier in the German Armed Forces , where he trained as a nursing assistant . He has been major in the reserve since 2003. From 1993 he studied civil engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and graduated successfully in 1998 as a graduate civil engineer (FH). From 1998 to 2014 Kießling worked in various subsidiaries of Nemetschek AG , mainly in the area of ​​product management. He completed an MBA program in Switzerland and Boston while working.

In 2014 he was elected First Mayor of the community of Denklingen and in 2017 won the direct mandate of the Starnberg-Landsberg-Germering constituency for the German Bundestag . In the 19th German Bundestag, Michael Kießling is a full member of the Committee on Building, Housing, Urban Development and Municipalities as well as the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Subcommittee on Civic Engagement. He is also a deputy member of the 2nd committee of inquiry. In addition, Michael Kießling was appointed as a member of the investigative committee on the car toll in 2019 .

Political career

Michael Kießling had already had his first political experience as a member of the Junge Union and the CSU since 1988 . The first political offices followed later. Since 2014, Kießling has been a volunteer as a district councilor and member of the district committee and is a member of the state board of the local political association of the CSU (KPV). In 2019 he also took over the chairmanship of the CSU district association Landsberg am Lech.

Volunteering

In addition to his professional and political career, Michael Kießling has been volunteering for the Weilheim mountain rescue service for over 25 years , where he previously also worked as an emergency medicine trainer. In addition, he is a member of the district board of the Bavarian Red Cross Landsberg am Lech and a member of the board of trustees of the Federal Bauakademie Foundation.
