Julia Schmidt (politician)

Julia Manuela Schmidt (born September 15, 1993 in Bad Dürkheim ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She has been chairwoman of the Brandenburg state association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2019.

Life

Schmidt studies political science, administrative science and sociology with a focus on administrative science at the Open University in Hagen . From 2017 to 2019 she worked in the office of the Bundestag member Beate Müller-Gemmeke . Her studies are currently suspended due to her work as state chairwoman.

She has been a member of the Green Youth and Alliance 90 / The Greens since 2016 . She has been a member of the Brandenburg party council since March 2019. At the state party conference in Templin on December 7, 2019, she was elected chairwoman of the Brandenburg state association of the Greens together with Alexandra Pichl . They received 67% of the delegate's votes.

Schmidt has been a member of the Oberhavel district council since the local elections in Brandenburg in 2019 . In the district assembly she was elected chairman of the green district assembly. In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2019 , she applied as a direct candidate in constituency 8 (Oberhavel II) for a mandate; she received 17.7% of the first votes, but could not move into the state parliament.
