Clemens Rostock (born February 21, 1984 in Eisenhüttenstadt , Frankfurt (Oder) district , GDR ) is a German politician of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party . He was chairman of the Brandenburg regional association from 2014 to 2019.

Personal

Rostock grew up in Eisenhüttenstadt. After graduating from high school (German-Polish grammar school Neuzelle ), he studied economics and economics at the universities of Potsdam and Münster . After completing his studies, Rostock worked for the Verkehrsclub Deutschland in the project “Climate-friendly mobile 60+”.

Rostock is married and has three children. He lives with his family in Hennigsdorf .

politics

Rostock has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2001. For many years he was a member of the state board of the Brandenburg Green Youth and was a direct candidate of his party in federal and state elections. From 2008 to 2014 he was a city councilor in Eisenhüttenstadt. In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2009, Rostock barely missed entry into the state parliament with 6th place on the list, as his party won five state parliament seats.

In November 2013, Rostock became a member of the state board of the alliance green state association Brandenburg , initially as an assessor . On November 29, 2014, Rostock was elected alongside Petra Budke as one of two equal state chairmen. He succeeded Benjamin Raschke , who resigned from his post after his election to the Brandenburg state parliament . In November 2015 and November 2017 he was confirmed as state chairman for a further two years.

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2019 , Rostock wanted to be part of the top duo of his party, but was defeated in the party primary election to Benjamin Raschke. He is now running at number 6 on the list of his party.
