Brigitte Lösch (born July 3, 1962 in Geislingen an der Steige ) is a German politician from Alliance 90 / The Greens . She has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament since 2001. From 2011 to 2016 she was Vice President of the State Parliament.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Geislingen in 1981, Brigitte Lösch studied social pedagogy at the Stuttgart University of Cooperative Education until 1984 . Afterwards she worked as a qualified social pedagogue for ten years in open child and youth work, before she worked as a representative for addiction prophylaxis at the district youth welfare office in Göppingen from 1992 to 1997 . From 1997 to 2001 she worked as a parliamentary advisor to the Greens in the state parliament, where she was primarily responsible for the areas of women, children and youth policy.

Political activity

Brigitte Lösch began her political career in 1989 in the local council of Geislingen an der Steige, where she was a member until 1998. From 1996 to 1998 she held the office of district chairman of the Greens in Göppingen, from 2000 to 2005 that of district chairman of the Greens in Stuttgart. From 2003 to 2015 she was a member of the Presidium of the Federal Women's Council of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.

In the 2001 and 2006 state elections , she won a second mandate in the Stuttgart I constituency . In the 13th electoral term (2001-2006) she was deputy chairwoman and parliamentary manager of her parliamentary group . In the 14th electoral term (2006–2011) she was chairman of the Social Committee and from June 2007 a member of the European Committee.

In March 2010, Lösch ran for the office of Lord Mayor of Ravensburg . In the first ballot it received 15 percent of the vote. In addition to the later election winner Daniel Rapp from the CDU , the former Green politician Oswald Metzger was also in front of her. She did not run for the second ballot on March 28, 2010.

In the state elections in 2011 and 2016 , she won the direct mandate in the constituency of Stuttgart IV . At the beginning of the 15th electoral term on May 11, 2011, she was elected First Vice President. She held the office until the end of the legislature. Since 2016 she has been chairman of the committee for culture, youth and sport.

Brigitte Lösch is chairwoman of the advisory board of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, member of the administrative board of the Staatstheater Stuttgart , member of the advisory board and board of trustees of the Akademie Schloss Solitude Foundation.

In addition, she has been chairwoman of the foundation council of the Samariterstiftung Nürtingen since 2017 and a member of its foundation "Time for People". She is involved in the Theaterhaus Stuttgart as a member of the advisory board and on the foundation's board of trustees. He is also the chairwoman of the board of directors of the Association for International Youth Work (vij) .

In addition, from 2013 to 2019 she was an appointed member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church of Württemberg - Ev. Association of the Open Church.

Family and private

Brigitte Lösch is a Protestant, married and has lived in Stuttgart since 1999.
