Jürgen Walter (born May 11, 1957 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Ludwigsburg , Jürgen Walter studied English and German in Stuttgart and Eugene, Oregon . After that he worked for six years at the Ludwigsburg Scala until his election to the state parliament , where he mainly organized jazz concerts and cabaret evenings. Until 1993 he was managing director of Ecotopia Productions , Ludwigsburg. Walter lives in Asperg .

He has been politically active with the Greens since 1983. From 1983 to 1991 he was the local chairman of the Greens in Asperg, from 1989 to 2011 local council in Asperg, from 1989 to 1992 he was a member of the district council in Ludwigsburg. In 1999 he became spokesman for the Ludwigsburg district board. In 2006 he resigned from the district board.

In 1992 Walter was elected as a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg in the constituency of Ludwigsburg . From 2006 to 2011 he was spokesman for his group there for the areas of media, Europe and sport. After the state elections in 2011 , he was State Secretary in the Ministry for Science, Research and Art in the Kretschmann I cabinet

In March 2016 he was re-elected to the state parliament with a direct mandate, where he is a member of the environmental and education committees.
