history
overview
Finds from the Neolithic period were made in the area, suggesting a settlement. A Roman military route ran between Bempflingen and Riederich. The current place was probably founded by the Alemanni; Riederich was first mentioned in a document in 1097, the area of which was then in the Duchy of Swabia . Riederich came to the County of Württemberg through the Counts of Achalm as early as the end of the 13th century . In the Peasants' War, Riedericher took part in the uprising of poor Konrad . Two thirds of Riederich was destroyed during the Thirty Years War .
Numerous families immigrated to North America in the late 19th century. In 1860 the place was raised to an independent parish. In 1906 Riederich was tied to the power grid. In the Reichstag election of 1933, 62.2% of the votes went to the NSDAP and 22.5% to the KPD .
After the Second World War , the place belonged to the French occupation zone and thus to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern , which was dissolved in the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. The redevelopment of the town center began in the 1990s. In 1997 the 900th anniversary of the site was celebrated.
Administrative affiliation
At the time of the Duchy of Württemberg, the place belonged to the Metzingen sub-office of the Urach office. When the new administrative structure was implemented in the Kingdom of Württemberg , which was founded in 1806, Riederich's affiliation to the Urach Oberamt was established. Through the district reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg in 1938, the place came to the district of Reutlingen .
