Theo Götz

Theo Nikolaus Götz (born December 6, 1930 in Weingarten ; † September 15, 2008 in Pfullingen ) was a CDU politician from Baden-Württemberg . From 1976 to 1988 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Life

Theo Götz studied teaching at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . He was senior director of studies for almost 20 years and from 1976 to 1995 rector of the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium (FSG) in Pfullingen .

Political activity

In 1965 he became a member of the Pfullingen municipal council . He was also a member of the expert committee, the restructuring commission and various other committees and bodies. For 28 years he was deputy honorary mayor of the city of Pfullingen without interruption. In 1999 he decided not to run again.

From 1971 to 2007 he was a member of the Reutlingen district council . From 1976 to 1988 Theo Götz was for the constituency Metzingen-Münsingen-Hechingen a member of the seventh to tenth electoral term in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

In addition to many engagements, he built up the state center for political education. As chairman of the sports group and regional chairman of the German Olympic Society, he played a key role in shaping the field of sport. He is the initiator of the town twinning between Pfullingen and the city of Passy in the French department of Haute-Savoie .

Family and private

Theo Götz was a Roman Catholic . Since 1951 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Cheruskia Tübingen and later also the KDStV Tuiskonia Munich, both in the CV .
