Fort Meigs Treaty
The Treaty of Fort Meigs , also contract from the foot of the rapids called, was born on September 29, 1817 between the warriors and chiefs of Wyandot - Seneca - Lenni Lenape - Shawnee - Potawatomi - Ottawa - and Anishinabe - Indians and United States of America closed.
With this last treaty, the Indian tribes of the Ohiotal ceded the remains of their homeland to the USA, which distributed the land to white settlers through an auction.
In fact, most of the area has long been inhabited by white settlers, but since the country officially belonged to the Indian territory , there was no civil administration and there was anarchy and barbarism among the white population.
